This article explanes the growing protest of the awful economy that we are currently living in. This is also telling about how the police are constantly being called in to help out to stop the protesting the is being done. The protesters are camping out by the hundreds and this is causing a problem for many that live or are around that area. So in order to stop this problem authorites are constantly monitoring these areas and looking for problems to kick these people out. Yes, problems have been found but, the protesters will not be going anywhere for a while.
Increasing tenson is growing between the economy and the Anti-Wall Street protesters. The latest Portland prostest showed that example of all of the built up anger that everyone is harboring at the economy. However, unlike the norm like myself I am not out there protesting and getting arrested, but I do understand how someone can be feed up enough to start fights and rebelling so badly that the police is using tear gas to hold a crowd back. In my opinon this is the beggining of the end for the economy, but I have hopes that some new economic solution will come out of this.
Issac I agree with your comment that this is in fact the beginning of the end, It seems as the government despite protest is blowing this off as a bunch of weed smoking hippie. While I certainly do not agree with the actions some protesters have taken too, (i.e. throwing full paint cans at police officers, re leaving themselves on police cars, injuring local economy, property, and business, and defamation of some members of the one percent who have come out peacefully trying to explain their side only to be thwarted by some ignorant protesters (not saying all or even many are ignorant). The one percent has also acted out badly using media to distance the movement, while I understand that some are necessary I believe this encampment needs to settle down a little bit, how do these people expect to get jobs protesting. While I know it is hard to find a job in this economy especially one for your major and qualifications sometimes you just have to settle for less. I am !7 almost 18 years old and I maintain a job, though it is part time and I don't make much more than minimum wage, I am making more money with out having a high school degree than many college graduates at the protest. This is upsetting for two reasons, One I fear in my future this could be me (not protesting but with a degree that I am unable to use) and two This people that are complaining they can't find jobs but they are currently doing nothing to find a job and the longer you go without employment for whatever reason the less likely you are to get hired on by a new company. Sometimes you just have to settle and make due with the jobs available even if that means minimum wage. If you are really as qualified as you claim your work ethic, knowledge ability, and skill should be recognized allowing for advancement (if it become available)to you over others. Unfortunately that is the nature of the beast, I am by no means saying put up or shut up but the way we are going about this is all wrong, make your voice heard don't make the jobs of others harder (i.e. companies law enforcement). though I do not condone the actions of many members of the police department others that are innocent have their reputation and physical safety being dragged through the mud. I blame some of this on the group Anonymous, while originally I saw them as a reputable group, uncovering and bringing to light disgusting government secrets, shutting down child pornography pages and many other just acts, I believe their true agenda has been exposed, especially when they threatened to take down fox and facebook due to opposition of some peoples views I thought they themselves were fighting for freedom of speech and press. They also released to the public the name address and I believe number of an officer accused of misusing force. The authoritative had suspended him and were pending an investigation but anonymous has endangered both the officer his family and his friends by disclosing this info. This was not an act towards freedom and peace but rather acts of violence and hate. As a 17 year old I can see the flaws and corruption of both sides can the government not? Can anonymous not? can protesters not? I think it is sad and I personally would call out anonymous if I believed they would listen, learn, change. But we are in a state of insanity, as said by Albert Einstein we are doing the same thing over and over again, expecting change.
