http://abcnews.go.com/US/texas-man-claims-police-killed-dog-cisco-responding/story?id=16150874

This article talks about a police officer, Austin Police Cpl. Anthony Hipolito, getting a dispatch call of domestic disturbance that takes him to the the wrong house.  The site that Hipolito came up to was home to Michael Paxton, 40, and his Australian cattle dog Cisco.  Paxton was playing frisbee with his dog at the time, Hipolito arrived.  As Paxton turned the police officer was there gun drawn, orddering Paxton to put his hands in the air.  Obviously doing what any good dog that sees someone threating their owner, the dog barks at Hipolito and approaches.  The officer then fired point blank into the dog.

This is a huge story right now in the news, and many are taking sides.  Those siding against the officer, say that it was the officers fault, he did not follow proticale and went in gun drawn, ordering Paxton for no reason, then he shot the dog.  The other side of the debate is that Hipolito was not at fault, and they say that it is Paxton's fault for not restaining his dog in the first place.  I am standing on the side of saying that it is clearly the offericer that is at fault here.  If he were to simply follow proticale, going in and investigating the situation, instead of going in gun drawn this situation could have been avoided.  And to those that say that Paxton should have restrained his dog, let me put the situation in clearer perspective.  You are playing frisbee with your dog, in your own yard, you turn and a gun is pointed at you, and you hear "put you hands in the air".  Your first thought is not, "wow i should get my dog so he will be safe".  No it is put your hands in the air and hope that you do not get blasted in the face.

Anders Behring Brevick declares that he is innocent of murding 77 people.  He declared that the act was brought on by self defence from the radicalist muslims.  Along with this explaination he declared that he was part of a anti-muslim radical group, that apprently does not exist in the real world.  Today while in court he declared that the authorities had no power over him and he should be released.

Ok, it is obvious to anyone who hears this story must know that this man is not in his right mind.  However, he has just been cleared of being sane and have knowledge that he is in control of his actions and will be tried in this case.  It is obvious that this man will not be declared innocent.  In my opinion this man should be given the worst punishment possible, there is nothing else that can be said, this is an awful act committed by a man, who i think is possibly insane, but apparently not

Week 11 post

Moroccan teenager forced to marry for rapist, commits suicide.  Amina Filali killed herself last Wednesday in order to escape the marriage.  The forcing for the rapist to marry Amina is set in law from the Bible itself.  In this passage, depending on the translation used, says that the man must marry the woman and he may never divorce her.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/morocco/9146082/Moroccan-teenagers-suicide-after-she-was-forced-to-marry-her-rapist.html

In my opinion I think that this law in Morocco is very stupid.  It is seriously a common sense issue, people it seems are just really dumb in that part of the world. No government in their right mind should follow this law, this could be compared to having a pedifil marry a child that he/she was found having relationships with.  So bad idea that would be terrible. To quote one of my favorite youtube commetors Philp DeFranco "Some parts of the world still scary, some of the parts still stupid, and we just watch the back-asswordness from Disney Land." By the way sorry for the language but still a good quote. That video below has the story in it as well as some others. Careful there is some stronger language in it, not for young children!

Week 10 post

This article details the latest in the Afgan situation.  What happened was a military solider (no name given) walked off the army base and proceeded to kill 16 villigers.  the article is also talking about how we should deal with his problem.

This is a deeply saddening subject.  We have high expectations on what how our military should act.  This news story tells us differently, there are many problems that we have in our military and this seems to be an example of this.  This is a learning point we must use to better ourmilitary and to protect everyone world-wide

week 17 post

http://news.yahoo.com/two-dead-virginia-tech-university-shooting-003543578.html

Today at Virgina Tech, there was a shooting that has left two dead.  This shooting was a murder-suicide, leaving a 4 year veteran campus police officer dead, as well as the gunman.  The school has had strong fears of school shoooting.  in 2007 the was a shooting that left 32 people dead and many injured.

Virgina Tech is in shock after today's events.  This has to be one of their worst fears, having this shooting happening after this school has had known the violence of people.  The shooter gave no motive for violence, he watched as the officer was directing traffic, and walked toward him and shot him dead.  police are still investigating what the cause of the shooting, and if it just the officer and the gunman, or how many more are involved.

Week 13

http://news.yahoo.com/anti-wall-street-protesters-dig-against-police-054221744.html

This article explanes the growing protest of the awful economy that we are currently living in.  This is also telling about how the police are constantly being called in to help out to stop the protesting the is being done.  The protesters are camping out by the hundreds and this is causing a problem for many that live or are around that area.  So in order to stop this problem authorites are constantly monitoring these areas and looking for problems to kick these people out.  Yes, problems have been found but, the protesters will not be going anywhere for a while.

Increasing tenson is growing between the economy and the Anti-Wall Street protesters.  The latest Portland prostest showed that example of all of the built up anger that everyone is harboring at the economy.  However, unlike the norm like myself I am not out there protesting and getting arrested, but I do understand how someone can be feed up enough to start fights and rebelling so badly that the police is using tear gas to hold a crowd back.  In my opinon this is the beggining of the end for the economy, but I have hopes that some new economic solution will come out of this.

Week 12

What would you do?

If someone were to cut me in line and had won $500 from that, I would be mad and deserve that money. First of all i would not let someone cut me in line, and if i did I really do not know what i would do, I certanly would ask the person for a cut of the money.  If the person didnot share I might throw a fist but, when and if it happens we will see.  However, from watching that clip I will never let someone cut ever.
